Volume One brings together two lavishly produced landmarks of the silent period – 7th Heaven (1927) and Street Angel (1928).
The second volume contains two more classics from the period that saw Borzage transition from silent pictures into sound. They are Lucky Star (1929) and Liliom (1930).
Special features on Volume Two:
* Lucky Star commentary by Tom Gunning
* The River (1929), (55 mins) – Borzage’s once-lost masterpiece lovingly reconstructed by Hervé Dumont
Both volumes contain an illustrated booklet with essays and film notes. The films are presented in their original 1.20:1 aspect ratio with optional hard of hearing subtitles on volume 2.
