Was ist nun das Fazit der Nominierungen? Die Foreign Press. Association bewies teilweise Mut zur Lücke und hat einige sehr "interessante" Nominierungen verkündet. Erstaunlich dürfte sein, dass Milk und The Dark Knight quasi nicht berücksichtigt wurden und jeweils nur in den Schauspielkategorien repräsentiert sind. Dafür haben wir mit Slumdog Millionaire, The Reader, Frost/Nixon und The Curious Case of Benjamin Button die großen Favoriten auf die Siege, während Revolutionary Road wohl anscheinend nur eine Außenseiterrolle spielt. Auch gut dabei ist The Wrestler, wenngleich es hier auch nicht zu einer Berücksichtigung für die Regie oder den Film reichte. Ähnliches kann man bei Doubt sehen, der mit starken Schauspielern glänzen konnte. Allgemein ein interessanter Indikator, wenngleich ich mir sicher bin, dass wir bei den Oscars eine veränderte Filmekonstellation sehen könnten aber bis die Nominierungen verkündet werden, ist es noch ein bisschen hin.
